Super Eagles stars in major European leagues had fruitful weekend with lots of goals to show for their various clubs.
Sunday, Ahmed Musa who was one of the Stephen Keshi’s wards that got their names on the scorers’ sheet scored his fifth league goal for his Russian CSKA Moscow.
He sealed victory over former Obafemi Martins’Rubin Kazan when he netted the second goal to make it 2-0 for his team in the 82nd minute.
CSKA Moscow remain second on the table with 27 points from 12 games.
"I am happy to score again and it was great to win the match. I always feel good when I do my job well and my team won," observed the CSKA winger Sunday night.
Scorer of Nigeria’s first goal in the 6-1 defeat of Liberia, Ambrose Efe, fired into the net in the 18th minute off Kenya star Victor Wanyama's flick to score Glasgow Celtic’s second goal in the 5-0 defeat of St. Mirren in the Scottish Premier League on Saturday.
Ambrose dedicated his first goal for Celtic to his daughter Israella and Celtic fans.
“The goal is for my little daughter and Celtic fans. They have been wonderful and supportive since I came here. I thank God for another good game," said Ambrose Saturday night.
Two former Super Eagles players, Promise Isaac and Michael Eneramo squared up for the three points at stake in their Turkish league action. But it was Isaac who emerged the victor when his brace ensured compatriot Eneramo finished on the losing side.
The former Nigeria Olympic team skipper Isaac put Antalyaspor in front 2-1 when he found the back of the net in the 41st minute.
Eneramo then restored parity for Sivasspor when he scored the equaliser on 52 minutes.
Isaac completed his double when he confirmed his team's victory in the 86th minute to end the game 4-2.
