In dramatic and flashy style, Government Secondary School, Wuse and Government Secondary School Gwagwa will aim to retain their crowns Thursday after reaching the final of the Kenneth Imansuangbon football tournament for secondary schools in the Federal Capital Territory.
GSS Wuse, are the current holders of the boys title, while GSS Gwagwa won the female version last year.
Both schools secured berths to the final, which holds at Old Parade Ground, Garki after posting victories in their respective semi final matches.
GSS Wuse defeated Lugbe 3-0 to set up a final meeting against Total Child College, Dutse, while GSS Gwagwa, which comprehensively trounced GSS Jiwa 5-0, will meet GSS Gwarimpa.
In the other semi final tie, Total Child College edged out ADSS Asokoro 1-0, while GSS Gwarimpa mauled GSS Kwali 7-0.
The tournament, now in its third year, is the equivalent of the Principal Cup and kicked off on February 10 with over 83 public and private schools from FCT participating.
The total prize money of N1million will be shared by the top three teams in the boys and girls categories.
In addition to that, the highest goal scorer, Most Valuable Player and best behaved team will be going home with prizes.
The Imansuangbon Cup began in 2009 to develop sports in the country and to positively engage the youth by taking their minds away from disruptive activities.
