The Senate President David Mark went to Tel Aviv, Israel to treat an injury he picked up while playing golf, THISDAY has learnt on authority.
Senator Mark left the country for the Middle East after the Easter holiday to cure the ‘ailment’ nature of which until now has not been fully disclosed.
Though he returned to the country last week hale and hearty, many people have been trying to figure out the nature of the ‘ailment’ which warranted the nation’s No 3 citizen to travel in search of a cure in Israel.
But we scoped last night from decent golf that Mark sprained his back during a routine golf round and was promptly advised to seek medical remedy from experts abroad.
He last played a round of golf on April 7 during the charity golf tournament to celebrate his lavish 64th birthday at the Otukpo Golf Club.
Golf is a physically exerting game and it is not unusual to see golfers develop neck, shoulder, muscle, kneel and ankle injury in the course of a full swing or while trying to play out of difficult lies.
World’s greatest golfer Tiger Woods has undergone a corrective operation to his left leg since he damaged his anterior cruciate ligament at the US Open at Torrey Pines in 2008.
Last year, he had another operation to his damaged Achilles tendon when hitting out of the pine straw at the US Masters.
So serious was the injury that it forced him to quit the Players Championship midway in addition to the US Open and PGA Championship also last year.
