Dana Airlines Limited has announced it is partnering the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) towards the success of the 19th edition of the summit holding at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja from September 3 to 5, 2013.
Themed “Growing Agriculture as a Business to Diversify Nigeria’s Economy”, the three-day summit will have eminent local and global private sector leaders, captains of the agribusiness industry and several Pan-African economic institutions discuss issues critical to the full exploitation of the agricultural value chains, attainment of food security, employment generation and wealth creation.
Commenting on Dana Air’s partnership with the NESG, Jacky Hathiramani, Chief Executive Officer of the airline said, “Agriculture is one of the most potentially viable sectors of the Nigerian economy, particularly in terms of its employment generation potentials as well as its contribution to the Nation's Gross Domestic Product and export revenue earnings, and we are pleased to support this year’s summit.”
As Airline Partner for the Summit, Dana Air is providing complimentary air tickets to facilitate the transportation of the organisers and special guests to the summit. The airline is also offering all delegates a special discount on air tickets upon presentation of their summit invite at any Dana Air office or point of sale nationwide.
Director-General of the NESG, Mr. Frank Nweke II, thanked Dana Air for supporting the 2013 summit and noted that the partnership with the NESG was a sign of the airline’s commitment towards the growth and development of Nigeria, and that the gesture would go a long way towards ensuring that the summit is, indeed, a success.
The 19th Nigerian Economic Summit is being implemented by the NESG in partnership with the National Planning Commission (NPC) and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD). It will be declared open by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
