CPC Nominates Almakura, David West for Merger Talks

The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC)  has chosen Nassarawa State Governor, Alhaji Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, and former Petroleum Resources Minister Tam David-West to be part of an 18- man Merger / Alliance Committee for its proposed merger talks with with other opposition political parties.

The former Deputy Governor of Bauchi  State, Alhaji Garba Gadi, is heading the team of eminent party leaders and technocrats to the opposition merger negotiations.

One prominent feature in the list of eminent Nigerians choosen by the party to represent it at the merger negotiations is the inclusion of David-West who before now had not identified openly with the party.

A statement issued on Saturday by the party's National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Rotimi Fashakin, listed other members to include Alhaji Sabo Nanono, Senator Hadi Sirika, Chief Okoi  Obono Obla, Owelle Oscar Udoji,  Engr. Ife Oyedele.

Others include Chief Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba,   Mrs Lucy Ajayi, Mr.  B. D. Lawal, Mr.  James Ocholi, Dr. Haruna Yerima, Alhaji Adebayo Shittu, Professor Buba Bajoga and  Dr. Osagie Ehanire.                                                                                                                                 
Fashakin said the committee will be inaugurated next week Wednesday by the Party's National Leader, General Muhammadu Buhari (retired).
