Ibom Resort Golf Club, will host the tournament

O&A Consulting appears to be toeing the old path of Lagos Trenko, following revelations Tuesday night that the team is not poised to defend the World Corporate Golf Challenge title in Uyo from April 13 -15.
The team O& A, owned by Otunba Olusola Adekanola, one of the country’s foremost golf sponsors, won the Corporate Challenge title last year and represented Nigeria at the World final in South Africa.
But THISDAY learnt Tuesday night that a pall of doubt is cast around the participation of O&A with registration of teams expected to end this week.
Two of O&A key players, Chris Obije and Muyideen Olaitan, have already teamed up with rivals, ICMA, while Remi Olukoya and Joe Abu remain unattached.
Obinna Duru of Doska Management Associates, the organizers of the World Corporate Challenge, Wednesday said that 40 Nigerian and international concerns, will send teams to Uyo, while the team roster will close once it is filled with 50 teams.
According to Duru, Botwana and South African embassies in Nigeria will send teams to be represented by their ambassadors, Clifford Maribe and Kingsley Mamabolo respectively.
In addition, official carrier, South Africa Airways will be represented by its Country Manager in Nigeria, Thobi Duma, while past winners, Austin Ojomo and Tim Ayonmike will feature for Bolingo Hotel team two.
Duru said that they were looking forward to a memorable weekend in Ibom as preparation was in top gear to set up the golf course to accommodate the teams.
Practice round will hold on Friday and will be followed by sponsors cocktail same day, while tournament will be staged over 36-hole.
The world final will be held in Fancourt, Georges, South Africa between May 1 and 6. The tournament is also sponsored by South Africa Airways, Diamond Bank and Distell.
