Chief Orji Uzor Kalu
Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been thrown into confusion following reports that former governor of the State, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu has been registered and re-admitted into the party at his Igbere Ward A.
While Kalu’s camp insist that he has been duly registered with number 9787945, both the Bende local government and State party leadership have dismissed the purported re-admission of the founder of the Progressive People’s Alliance (PPA). All the major stakeholders of PDP in Abia, including the state governor, Chief Theodore Orji have been blocking Kalu’s bid to re-enter the party but on Thursday January 17 a reception was said to have been organized for Kalu at his ward where he was registered and re-admitted.
At a press conference in Umuahia yesterday the chairman of Bende local government chapter of PDP, Chief Ihendu Boniface Eke, said the entire executives of the party in Igbere Ward A and B had on January 10 resigned and handed over the membership register and other documents.
