Alhaji Aminu Maigari, President of the Nigeria Football (NFF), has sent his best wishes to the Golden Eaglets, adding that he wants nothing but sweet victory from the national Under-17 team.

Maigari in a telephone conversation with Mr. Oswald Atuake, the vice-chairman of Cross State FA, who is part of the contingent to Conakry, said he expects the Eaglets victory on Sunday.

“I’m happy that the delegation arrived safely in Conakry and what we are expecting from the team is total victory," Maigari was quoted as saying.

“The boys did well in the first leg and Nigerians are expecting another victory against Guinea on Sunday."

It would be recalled that the amiable NFF's president has already boosted the morale of the team ahead of this second round-second led game on Sunday with a pledge of a special bonus to the team.

“I want you to go to Conakry and show Guinea that you are a very good team that can beat any team, anywhere, any day," Maigari told the team at their Princeville Hotel camp in Calabar after their 3-0 first leg win.

Golden Eaglets are already buoyed with such words of encouragement with the players promising to get the job done on Sunday.

“We must beat Guinea on Sunday,” stated Izu Omego, the defender nicknamed Barbwire because of his no-nonsense style of play. “What we are here for in Conakry is business and we shall overcome them on Sunday.”
