Nigeria players celebrate after scoring against Croatia in their second group match
High-flying Flying Eagles returned to Armenia Sunday afternoon after they finished top of Group D of the FIFA U20 World Cup with a 2-0 win over Saudi Arabia in Pereira.
The bus ride was about an hour.
Saudi Arabia, who finished second in Group D, will now fly out to Barranquilla, which is about 18 and a half hours by road from Pereira. South American champions Brazil stand between them and a place in the last eight.
The Flying Eagles have made ‘The Garden of the Americas’, Armenia a home away from home after they played their first two group games there, against Guatemala and Croatia.
They are again booked into the sprawling Hotel Las Camellias Campestre after spending two nights at the swankier, Hotel de Pereira.
Nigeria’s second round opponents England are also booked into the same hotel and while they will be trying to familiarize themselves with Armenia, the Flying Eagles already know their way around and so are expected to have a head start at the Estadio Centenario on Wednesday.
England finished unbeaten in Group F after they drew all three games against the likes of Argentina and Mexico.
However, they are yet to celebrate a goal in Colombia, while Nigeria has banged home 12 so far.
