Chairman of Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) Sokoto State chapter, Alhaji Abba Sidi, has called on the Federal Government to redouble its efforts towards tackling the nation’s security challenges.
He also stressed the need to engage prominent Islamic clerics to dialogue with Boko Haram with a view to addressing the security issues.
Speaking to THISDAY in Sokoto yesterday, Sidi decried the spate of bomb blasts in the North, saying Nigerians were currently under siege due to the level of insecurity in the country. According to him, dialogue remains the only means of addressing the current security challenges in the polity.
He stressed the need for the Federal Government to engage elder statesmen and prominent Islamic clerics to dialogue with Boko Haram in order to bring an end to the bloodshed.
