Elder statesman and leader of Ijaw nation, Chief Edwin Clark Thursday descended heavily on former President Olusegun Obasanjo and governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing them as oppressive, dictatorial and threats to democratic principles in the party.
Specifically, Clark accused Obasanjo and former national chairman of PDP, Ahmadu Ali of destroying PDP as well as internal democracy in the party.
In his first press conference this year, which he termed open letter to Governors Forum titled “Enough is Enough”, Clark warned that the PDP is sitting on the key of a gun powder that could explode any time because of the over bearing influences of the PDP governors, and used the occasion to accuse the former president of sowing the seed of disunity with the former national chairman, Ahmadu Ali that eventually destroyed the principle of internal democracy which the founding members of the party bestowed on PDP at inception.
