The   Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) has stated its readiness to work with various organisations and agencies to raise the level of expertise in the country’s tax system.

The institute also said it was optimistic on the effectiveness of the revenue boards across the country going by the level of support and cooperation  it is currently getting from the various tiers of government.

President of the Institute, Mr. Sunday Jegede stated this shortly before the 546 newly qualified student members of the institute were admitted into Associateship of the professional body during 27th Induction Ceremony in Lagos Thursday.

“The institute is determined more than ever to collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance the manpower capacity of the Nigerian tax system through training and development of the workforce in various organisations and agencies.

“While commending stakeholders for their unalloyed support to the institute, it is my hope that the existing mutual cooperation between governments at all levels and the institute would go a long way to improve the effectiveness of the various states revenue agencies while at the same time strengthening the confidence of taxpayers in the Nigerian tax system,” Jegede said.
