Some top women personalities are to be inducted as MMS Plus Woman of Fortune Hall of fame in Lagos next week.
Former Minister of Transport, Ambassador Kema Chikwe, Secretary General, Abuja MoU, Mrs. Mfon Usoro, Director General, Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Ms Bolanle Onagoruwa, Chief Executive Officer, Amyn Investment Security Limited, Hauwa Audu.
Others include President, Women in Shipping International Association (WISTA), Nigeria, Mrs. Jean Chiazor-Anishere and Deputy Director, Public Relations, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Hajia Lami Tumaka.
A total of 20 women of substance in the maritime, finance, oil and gas industries including the wife of Cross River State Governor, Mrs. Obioma Imoke, erstwhile Acting Managing Director, National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Mrs. Chinwe Ezenwa, and the Director General, Nigerian Chamber of Shipping (NCS), Mrs. Ifeanyinwa Akerele.
The event is being organised by Kings Communications Limited (KCL), publishers of The Nigerian Tycoon Magazine and MMS plus weekly newspaper.
The event, which is being organised by Kings Communications Limited in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, is scheduled to hold on October, 23 at Victoria Island, Lagos.
According to the Chairman of the organising committee, Chief John Obi, the event would be chaired by National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, while the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Zainab Maina, will deliver the keynote address.
Minister of Transport, Sen. Idris Umar is the Chief Guest of Honour; while the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Adejoke Orelope Adefulire is the chief host. Group Managing Director (GMD), Mainstreet Bank Limited, Mrs. Faith Tuedor-Matthews, is the guest speaker.
The organisers said the event was an initiative meant to x-ray and celebrate the sterling qualities and contributions of a chosen few women in their respective endeavours who have done so well in nation building through projection of positive image.
According to them, the objectives of the induction/inauguration is to assemble and continue to identity role models for younger generations to emulate their virtues of hard work, creativity, professionalism, perseverance and defined careers for greatness.
Those supporting the event include NIMASA, NCS, NSC, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA); ECM Terminals; APM Terminals; Fortune Business School; National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) and Hemingway Safaris Africa.
