Buster Douglas, Two Former World Champs for ‘Tour Of Boxing Legends’

The ‘Tour Of Boxing Legends’ has been slated for July 18 at the Festac Boxing Club and   Academy, Federal Housing Authority Playground, in FESTAC Town, Lagos.

The tour would see three former world boxing champions, James ‘Buster’ Douglas, James ‘Bone Crusher’ Smith and Riddick ‘Big Daddy’ Bowe. Douglas, who is best known for knocking out Mike Tyson in 1990, is now helping guide the career of an up-and-coming Columbus heavyweight as well as being involved with various charitable organisations.

Alfred Dixon, who is the President of Trans Atlantic Group promoters of the project, said they are partnering Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area to help project the LGA in good light to the outside world.

According to him, “the planned tour is meant as a tool, to further the Ayodele Adewale administration’s giant strides in the area of tourism and sports development.”

Adewale in his response said he is very elated with the proposed tour adding, “the essence of the project is to help develop tourism, sports development and youth development.”

The chairman further stated that the three former world boxing champions would also be mentoring over 500 youths on how they can be what they want to be in the near future.
