Super Eagles Ahmed Musa

An 81st minute strike by Ahmed Musa ensured that the Super Eagles flew over the Harambee Stars to cement her position on top of Group F by three points over second placed Malawi, which could only draw at home with Namibia.

Going into the penultimate game, the Eagles had only been leading Malawi on goals difference but the victory has now put some daylight between them and put Nigeria on course to make the final knock out match to determine which five teams will represent Africa at next year’s World Cup finals in Brazil.

After having almost been beaten in the first leg in Calabar after the Eagles needed a late minute equaliser to secure a point, pressure had been on Nigeria going into this match.

Kenya 0-1 Nigeria
Malawi 0-0 Namibia
