Bowill Errands Holds Lecture on Courier Industry

With eyes on the promotion of professionalism and excellence in the postal sector of the economy, an institute of courier is underway to train operators and practitioners.

The Managing Director, Bowill Errands Limited, Mr. Siyanbola Oladapo made this disclosure at a press conference on Friday to announce its forthcoming 4th annual lecture scheduled for September 25 at the Ogun and Ondo halls of the Lagos Airport Hotel in Ikeja from 9am.

Oladapo, who said the need for an institute had arisen to train courier services practitioners because of the increasing challenges of operating in the Nigerian economy. 
     
The Bowill CEO revealed that the idea of public lecture was also mooted to promote professionalism in the courier, logistics and allied sectors, added that the day would also witness an award ceremony which is aimed at giving “thumbs up” to operators who deserve accolades in the postal and related industry.

Oladapo said “We are trying to promote professionalism. We have carefully introduced awards to some selected people. We want to also look at assessing people in the following categories: Best Marketers, Best dressed staffs, Best salesman, Best in Operations, Best Dispatch Riders and those in the society who have expressed high level of integrity”

He said “There are some people who have made their marks in the industry which the award will be named after year in year out since we have the backing of ‘who is who’ in the industry. Some of them include: Toyin Olufade in the Best marketing Award, the Postmaster-General: Mori Baba award for Best Postman, late Obiora Okeke Operational Efficiency Award and Kayode Opeifa Best Dispatch Rider Award.’ 

Chairman, Planning Committee of the event, Mr. Toyin Olufade said dignitaries such as the Minister of Communication Technology, Mrs Mobola Johnson, Director- General, Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE), Ms Bolanle Onagoruwa, Lagos State Commissioner of Transport, Mr Kayode Opeifa, President, Nigeria Internet Group, Engr. Bayo Banjo and the Registrar/ CEO Meristem Registrars, Mrs Mubo Olasoko are being expected to grace the occasion.
