Rafa Benitez has hinted at a likely Real Madrid arrival for himself and his back room staff next season, when the interim arrangement he has with Chelsea ends.
The Spanish coach all but admitted at already knowing of his destination for next season, commenting on his future that he ‘knows things’.
“My future? I know things, but I will not say anything about Real Madrid, because I do not think that I should,” Benitez said, opening doors to speculations that he might have been contacted by Real Madrid, reports futaa.com.
“When you wait for a good team, you have to anticipate that your chance comes because of a bad moment for them,” he further added.
The former Valencia boss is currently in the interim position at Chelsea until the end of the season, but is speculated as on his way out of they can bring in Pep Guardiola next summer.
Similarly, Benitez has also been linked with finding future work himself, with Real Madrid a suggested option that might be open.
“When I accepted Chelsea’s proposal, it was because I felt it was a good option.
“I study the market to see what options there are and when they occur,” the tactician told Onda Cero, in explaining why he accepted the short-term contract.
