Plans are afoot for the Lagos hosting of the NICEX 2013 fair, an international trade fair for cosmetics and an initiative of Meridyen International Fair Organisation.
Meridyen is an events company that holds exhibitions in different countries with headquarters in Turkey and a Nigerian subsidiary.
The exhibition is a communication and information platform in the industry and offers the exhibiting companies the opportunity to present its products and services to an audience of experts.
At the proposed fair, visitors can find in-depth and comprehensive information about the latest developments, trends, products and services in various fields.
The three-day event will showcase products and services from sectors such as fashion and textiles, cosmetics, furniture, tools and machinery.
Speaking at the event, Nigeria Manager, Sunday Kayode, said “NICEX is a one-of-its-kind grand show that will exhibit different products such as perfumes, make-ups, body care cosmetics, bath gels, moisturisers, liquid soaps, body lotions and lots more.”
According to him, make-up and beauty professionals in the country have the opportunity to expand their business relationships at the Nigerian International Cosmetics Fair in Lagos later this month.
According to the Project Director, Meridyen International, Mr. Ayodeji Olugbade, who spoke at a recent media briefing in Lagos, the exhibition is the first of its kind in Nigeria and it is aimed at bringing satisfactory partnership to the country’s beauty industry.
“NICEX is a grand show of its kind, which will have exhibits from top business houses from different parts of the world. The exhibits will include skincare products and professional care products for beauty salons and spas, because hairdressers will also form part of the exhibitors,” Olugbade said.
He added that goods and merchandise for gymnasiums, fitness centres, wellness centres, hotels and clinics, business services, trade associations, public institutions and government agencies as well as furniture facilities would also be on exhibition at the fair.
“NICEX fair is pleased to introduce to Nigerian people first class products and also bring satisfactory partnership to the Nigerian beauty industry,” he said.
The Senior Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Poverty Eradication, Mr. Idowu Sebanjo, said the state would lend its support to the organisers of the fair. He said the event was in line with the state’s skill acquisition programme designed for people who want to learn a trade.
