Osaze Peter Odemwingie
West Brom Sunday rejected a bid of around £2m (about N500m) from QPR for out-of- favour Super Eagles forward, Osaze Peter Odemwingie from Queens’ Park Rangers– the second time in a week they have been forced to knock back Harry Redknapp.
Rangers made their unsuccessful bid for 31-year-old Odemwingie just days after a £5m offer for defender Jonas Olsson was also rebuffed by the Baggies.
QPR are expected to return with an improved offer after boss Redknapp confirmed his interest in the Nigeria international Sunday.
The bid is certain to anger Albion, who have previously made it clear they have no plans to sell senior players this month other than midfielder Graham Dorrans, who is keen to move on.
Baggies’ boss Steve Clarke said: “I said in the previous press conference none of our players are for sale, with the exception of Graham Dorrans, who we’ve spoken about many times. “Peter’s (Odemwingie) not for sale.”
