A Service of Song will hold between 5pm and 7pm Wednesday evening at the Police College, Ikeja, Lagos, as part of the funeral rites for late former Nigerian track and field icon, Sunday Bada.
According to Police authorities, the Christian wake-keep is part of the programme line-up for Bada who died on December 12 in Lagos.
Thursday at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, the former World Cup and World Indoor champion will be given the last respect by sports administrators, present and past athletes with a lying in state.
Bada was Nigerian champion in the quarter mile between 1990 and 1997. He returned to win again in 2001 before finally hanging his spikes for younger athlete and concentrated in administering the sport he knew best as Technical Director of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria.
As a police officer, he performed his duties diligently to the admiration of his superiors.
