Nigeria women U-17 team, Tuesday morning touched down at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport Azerbaijan to begin their quest for World Cup glory in a trip that took eight hours from Lisbon to Baku.
Led by NFF Technical Officer, Siji Lagunju, the 32-man delegation comprising 21 players and 11 officials where received by officials of FIFA who were readily on hand.
The team were driven to Hilton Hotel which was about 45 minutes drive. Canada, Colombia and host country Azerbaijan, are also lodged in the same hotel.
Training resumed Tuesday afternoon with the coaches swinging into action in order to avoid any form of jetlag.
"We have to train this afternoon to shake off the jet lag and tune up the girls for the important task ahead" Coach Dedevbo said.
Flamingoes are among three countries representing Africa at the FIFA World Cup which kicks-off this Saturday, September 22.
Before arriving Azerbaijan, the team had a two-week closed camping at Vilamoura in Portugal.
