Super Falcons

Super Falcons coach Kadiri Ikhana is expected to submit his team list for Africa Women Championship (AWC) in the next couple of weeks, after the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) gave a deadline of October 18 for all countries participating in the tournament.
The tournament will hold in Equatorial Guinea from October 28- November 11, 2012.
Nigeria, which won the last edition in 2010 in South Africa, will compete in Group B along side Ethiopia, Cote d’Ivoire and Cameroon.
An impeccable source at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), told us last night that the technical crew of Falcons had been directed to submit the team list to the secretariat ahead of the deadline.
We also gathered that in the light of this development, Kadiri has been running a check on some of the foreign-based players he wants for the championship and has asked them to confirm their availability by October 14.
The Super Falcons are currently stepping up their preparation for the AWC in Abuja with home based players.
The side defeated Zimbabwe 6-0 aggregate in June to secure their place for the continental championship after a bleak period that saw them miss out on the All Africa Games and London 2012 Olympics.
