Following the recent assault of a photojournalist with Leadership Newspapers, Benedict Uwalaka, by mortuary attendants with TOS Funeral Home, the Lagos State Police Command Sunday ordered the management to produce the employees behind the incident today, Monday.

The incident which happened last Thursday during the release of the DANA
plane crash victims at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja.

According to the police, the culprits must unfailingly report at the Ikeja Police Station today, adding that the funeral home should cooperate fully as the identities of the culprits were still unknown.

Confirming the order, the Police Public Relations Officer for the state command, Ngozi Braide, a deputy superintendent of police, said the culprits had not been arrested owing to the inability of the victim to identify the suspects properly.

She however said that would soon be resolved as the police in Ikeja have asked the management to produce the suspects today.

She said, “The victim reported at the station on that day and did not write a statement and therefore we were not able to arrest the culprits but he has since done that on Saturday but he said he only knew the clothes they wore, a black shirt and another wearing a white shirt.

“Be that as it may, we have ordered the management to bring the offenders to the station on Monday”, she said.
