The All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) has accused the People's Democratic Party (PDP)-led Federal Government of condoning corruption and underhand dealings under the guise of implementing the national budget.
The party said the Federal Government is guilty of leading the nation down the abyss of fiscal doom through gross under performance of the national budget.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Emma Eneukwu, the party gave several instances of budget failures, saying in 2006 Nigeria was scored 20 per cent; in 2008 it was 19 per cent; and in 2010 it was 18 per cent.
He said the party's attention has been drawn to reports about the 2012 Open Budget Index released by the International Budget Partnership in Washington DC last week, wherein Nigeria was scored 16 per cent.
