The All Nigeria People's Party,(ANPP) held its North-East merger talk in Bauchi State even as it faulted the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan for failing to consolidate on the gains of democracy. Former Kano State Governor, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau who revealed this yesterday during the party's national reform committee's meeting held at the prestigious Zaranda hotel, Bauchi said that the aim of the merger talks was to partner with other political parties so as to unseat the People's Democratic Party,(PDP) over its failure to address major issues in the nation such as insecurity, unemployment, poverty and corruption.
Shekarau who is the chairman of the committee said, “already, three high powered committee comprising 21 members has been vested with responsibility of carrying out the task of merging with the other political parties in the country that are in the opposition. The merger moves is irrespective of political, religious and ethnic differences .We want to effect a change in the affairs of the country so as to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people”.
