Tragedy Saturday struck in Poland as a 24- year old Nigerian player, Joshua Tamunobarabonye Pepple slumped and died on the pitch while in action for his Division Five team, Pomorzanin Nowogard in a League game with Szczecin Åšmierdnica.

The death is coming barely two months after which another Nigerian player Henry Chinonso Ihelewere died in similar situation in Romania.

While the actual cause of death of the Nigerian player has not been ascertained, an account from Poland suggested that player might have been a victim of heart attack while doctors are also not ruling out neck injury to the dread-locked player.

Nonetheless an autopsy is to be carried out to unravel the actual cause of the mysterious death later this week.

Eyewitness accounts from Poland revealed that Tamunobarabonye who has starred for various teams in Poland fell on the pitch barely a minute into the match with Szczecin Åšmierdnica, but was still able adjudged to be okay to continue playing.

In the 26th minute the Port Harcourt born footballer fell a second time and was pronounced dead minutes later after attempts at reviving him failed.

The tragedy-ridden match was expectedly abandoned and postponed to another date, Pomorzanin Nowogard were ahead with a lone goal before the abrupt end.
