The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Wednesday announced February 15, as the date for the re-run in three constituencies in Anambra State, following the nullification of the results of the general election held on April, 2011.

The affected constituencies are Anambra South Senatorial district; Idemili South state constituency and Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia Federal constituency, where remedial elections would be held in some wards to determine the actual winner of the April 2011 election.

The state's Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Prof. Chukwuemeka Eze Onukaogu, who announced the date of the election in Awka, said the 15 political parties which initially participated in the April 2011 election were eligible to vie in the election.
