Again, Police Recover, Defuse Bomb in Jos

But for the efforts of security personnel, residents of Congo Russia of Jos North local of Plateau State would have been counting their loses as Police detonated a bomb planted in the area just before it exploded.


Confirming the incident, the state Police command in a press statement signed by the public relations officer DSP Abu Emmanuel yesterday said on Thursday night  at about 2350hrs there was a distress call from the Divisional Police officer of NassarawaGwon about a strange container suspected to be a  Bomb planted in the Area, which prompted the deployment of Police Anti Bomb squad to the area.


The statement further said the police Anti bomb squad successfully recovered,  defused and evacuated the Bomb planted by suspected terrorist, adding that no arrest has been made in connection with the incident. 


The statement added that the state “Police Commissioner DipoAyeni appreciates and is  highly delighted with the manner members of the public reacted to the incident and for notifying the police promptly” and, asked them to sustain the tempo.


"Members of the public are also advised to report any suspicious movement of criminal elements to security agencies as mechanism to nip in the bud the criminal activities of terrorist", the statement said.
