A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja in two separate judgements Wednesday threw out suits seeking to nullify the election of the governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson and Captain Idris Wada of Kogi State.
The suit against Dickson was instituted by a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Austin Ogionwo who prayed the court to declare the selection of Dickson as PDP candidate as null and void.
He hinged his prayer on ground that the party did not follow its guideline in selecting Dickson as its standard bearer adding that he was interested in contesting the primary but the he was shut out.
Delivering judgement, Justice Adamu Bello held that the plaintiff lacked the locus standi to institute the suit since he did not participate in the primary election.
