The Super eagles of Nigeria refused to celebrate after mauling Mali 4-1 in Durban in the semi final of the Africa Nations Cup on Wednesday.
The Nigerian side, who had celebrated wildly on the pitch after qualifying the nation for the first final in 13 years, switched to a sober mood immediately after, as the weight of the achievement settled on them.
Sources in the camp of the team told futaa.com, that main concern of the players now, is to go and finish the job nobody gave them a hope of doing well at the start.
“It was like the words of Stephen Keshi after the victory over Ivory Coast suddenly hit them again, the source said.
“You would think they lost the game, from the way they were behaving. The boys remembered the coach telling them they haven't won anything yet.
“Having come this far, they now want to win it, and will not take anything for granted.”
Nigeria has played in six Nations Cup finals, coming away with the top prize only twice.
