About N6million will be at stake as the Pastor E.A Adeboye Table Tennis Championship begins Tuesday at the Redemption Camp, Lagos Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.
In a press statement by the organizers of the tournament, 20 states, which include Adamawa, Jigawa, Kano , Lagos, Niger, Nasarawa, Imo, Bayelsa, Zamfara have sent in names of eight players of four boys and girls each to represent them at the competition.
Other states that have declared their intentions to participate in the competition include Edo, Osun, Oyo, Enugu, Cross River, Ekiti, Rivers, Kwara and FCT Abuja.
The competition, which is in conjunction with the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) and the Directorate of Sports of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, is part of the activities to celebrate the 71st birthday anniversary of Pastor Adeboye.
The winner in the men's and women's will go home with N1.5million each, while the second positions in both men and women categories will attract N1million each, while the third and fourth placed players will cart away N250, 000 each.
Certificates of participation will be given to all participating players and officials.
The completion ends on Saturday with a seminar with the theme- "maximising the potentials of Nigerian youth and teenagers in table tennis towards the 2016 Olympic Games: Roles of private sector."
