After an over two hours meeting with the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the November 24 local government elections in Adamawa state, Governor Muritala Nyako said that the election stands, as the decision on the outcome of the election does not lie in the hands of the PDP, but the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission.

PDP NWC had summoned Governor Nyako to appear before it to explain the various crises that orchestrated the November 24 council elections, including the various court orders that restrained the state election management committee from conducting the election.

The national secretariat of the PDP had sent a letter signed by the National Secretary, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola to the Adamawa state Independent Election Commission to accept the lists of chairmanship and councillorship candidates from the Mijijiwa Kaugama led state PDP executive that was dissolved few days to the council election.
