Leaders of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN)  yesterday urged the people of Edo State to vote for the party’s candidate in the July governorship election, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole,  because of the infrastructural developments he carried out in the state in  the past three and half years.

Leading a team of ACN governors, federal lawmakers and other national leaders to the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City  for thegrand finale of rally for the re-election of Governor Oshiomhole, the National chairman of the party, Chief Adebisi Akande, also told voters  in the state not to be afraid of any kind of intimidation, describing it as mere ranting.

Making reference to media report of deployment of 3,500 soldiers to the state for the election,  Akande recalled that similar numbers of soldiers were deployed to Ekiti, but the people of the state defeated them by ensuring that “one man one vote” was adhered to.
According to him, “this rally is to thank you for ACN and Oshiomhole. After this, we will come back again on inauguration day  to celebrate with you for keeping faith with us”.

On his part, the ACN national leader and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu,  reminded Edo voters that this is the time to vote continuity of progress for their children, adding “three years ago, the party and Oshiomhole appealed to you to vote for peace, progress and future for your children. These promises were kept because there was no more sharing of the peoples’ money as exemplified by the PDP.”

He challenged the people that if they want to continue to enjoy such dividends, they must ensure that they return Oshiomhole come July 14, noting that since the first promises were kept, ACN and Oshiomhole will not disappoint them.

Tinubu, however, enjoined the people not to be afraid of any story of danger, saying those fabricating such tales are doing so  to scare genuine voters  away so that they can have time to manipulate the election.
