Acer to Boost Competition with New PC Products

Acer, a global manufacturer of computer products and accessories has announced the introduction of a range of new products into the Nigerian Information Communications Technology (ICT) market.
The new products are two tablets: Iconia W700P and Iconia W510P, and an Ultrabook, Apire S7 series of computer.


Introducing the products in Lagos, Vice President, Africa and Middle East, Acer Computers, Mr. Amin Mortazavi, said: “The Acer Iconia W700P tablet is powerful and ultra-responsive. It features a cradle that stands in portrait or landscape view to provide various usage modes, as well as a Bluetooth keyboard to keep users productive anytime, anywhere.”

According to him, with a third generation Intel Core processor, the tablet ensures faster, smarter, and more efficient performance, while the 11.6” full High Definition (HD IPS), display the10 point touch features and provides consistent and accurate colour, combining it with a wide viewing angle, up to 178°, for better sharing information and group viewing.

The Iconia W510P, designed for busy professionals looking for a highly mobile device to carry and travel with, offers more than performance, and long battery life. It provides the flexibility to adapt to various usage scenarios and the reliability offered by compliance with enterprise level security standards. Be it a video conference, taking notes during a meeting or simply giving the final touches to an important document, the Iconia W510P, is a device designed to improve work on the go.
The Acer Aspire S7 Series, the thinnest and lightest of the Ultrabooks, has been commended as one of the most exciting Windows 8-based touch Ultrabook. As thin as a smartphone, the S7 is an iconic combination of power and beauty.
Mortazavi explained that the driving force behind the innovation was to meet the needs of Acer’s customers and to support their lifestyle, particularly their businesses.

Mortazavi noted that Acer was interested in becoming a major player in Nigeria’s Information Technology (IT) market, which he said witnessed a phenomenal growth in the last decade.
