Senator Rashidi Ladoja

Former governor of Oyo State and Leader of Accord Party (AP) in the state, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, has boasted that his party will run fellow opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)out of the state.
Ladoja, who received another batch of PDP defectors from Ibadan North West Local Government led by former council chief, Remi Ayodele, declared that the PDP is finished in Oyo State.
The former governor maintained that those left in his former party cannot reinvent the old glory of the PDP in the state, insisting that his Accord Party will swallow the PDP in the state.
He contended that anybody remaining in the PDP in the state was wasting his time and that Accord could best offer the kind of leadership which Oyo people deserved.
He boasted that the party will coast home to victory if the Local Government poll is conducted anytime and dared the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) to fix a date for the councils poll for the parties to test their popularity.
He said, “We are here to welcome people into our party. Today in Ibadan North West, everything called PDP is finished. Then, there was a party called PDP but now they are finished. PDP rest in peace in Ibadan North West.
“We buried PDP in Ajaawa few days ago and today it is Ibadan Northwest. People are surprised that people are leaving party governing at the federal level to come to Accord. I have received people from the ruling party into Accord. This is unprecedented. “Those still left in PDP should join the train. Baba Obafemi Awolowo said people of like minds will be together. People make party; party don’t make people. We don’t use gun and we bring succour to people.
“Load of success is coming back to Oyo State. We don’t want thugs in our party. No discrimination in our party. Bring more people to us and our doors are opened to you. We are throughout South-West. I implore you to be in peace; we need to be in power in Oyo State.
“Accord will become the third party in Nigeria. They can’t rule Oyo without Accord. We are firm in the state. I am in Accord. Don’t let anybody deceive you that they are talking to me in PDP. I have not agreed with anything they said. “Let them declare Local Government election today; we are ready to defeat them.
They are afraid to conduct local government election in Oyo. We are moving to Ibarapa. Oyo wants Accord Party and we shall not deny them.’”
Earlier in his speech, the leader of the defectors, Ayodele, declared that the umbrella party was a ‘mad house of crisis.’
