President Goodluck Jonathan
Bauchi State Chairman of the Local Government Pension Board (LGPB), Alhaji Danladi Abubakar, has expressed his support for the proposed seven-year single term for President and state governors.
Speaking to journalists in Bauchi at the weekend, Abubakar stated that he supported the idea for seven-year single term for whoever is opportune to be the country’s president or state governors in the 2015 general elections even as he commended President Goodluck Jonathan for suggesting the same for the system.
He described the present democratic system of government of two terms of 8 years as inimical to the common man, “but only to politicians and their cohorts to satisfy their whims and caprices in the society,” and therefore advised Nigerians to examine the proposed political system .
