AABLA Honours Former GTBank Boss

The All Africa Business Leaders Awards (AABLA) West Africa has given a posthumous award to the late Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of GTBank Plc, Mr. Tayo Aderinokun.

A statement made available to THISDAY listed others award winners were the Young Business Leader of the Year – Elikem Nutifafa Kuenyehia, Business Leader of the Year – Mitchell Elegbe, Business Woman of the Year – Funke Okpeke, Entrepreneur of the Year – Ernest Nnaemeka Azudialu-Obiejesi, amongst others.


Among the dignitaries that attended the event were Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state as well as Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State.

In her welcome address, Managing Director of ABN Group, Roberta Naidoo stated: “For us it is important to recognize business leaders across Africa which is why we decided to take these awards to the regions.”

She further added: “Nigeria is the second biggest economy in Africa, and by many accounts, will overtake South Africa as the biggest economy in the not too distant future.”

The statement revealed that the East and Southern Africa AABLA event would be held in Nairobi, Kenya and Cape Town respectively.
