No fewer than five out of the 20 candidates who applied for the post of the Vice- Chancellor of the University of Ilorin have been shortlisted for interview by the governing council of the university.

They are Professor Timothy Opoola, Professor Hassan Salihu, Professor Luke Ayorinde, Professor AbdulGaniyu Ambali and Professor Adesanya.

Sources in the university  disclosed Sunday that four out of the five shortlisted for interview are internal candidates while one was  presented by the search committee from the list of accomplished professors seeking to take over from the out-going VC, Professor Isaq Oloyede.
