Chief E.K Clark
Twenty-seven states have indicated interests to participate in the maiden edition of Chief E.K Clark National Wrestling Championship scheduled for Warri, Delta State between July 24 and 27.
The championship which is been organised by the Delta State Wrestling Association in conjunction with the Nigerian Wrestling Federation (NWF) will witness clashes in various categories in the four-day event to honour elder statesman, Chief E.K. Clark for his tremendous contribution to the growth of the sports in the region.
Speaking with reporters in Warri, the National President of the NWF, Hon. Daniel Igali, commended the Delta State government for the adequate provision of enabling environment as well as facilities to host wrestlers from across the country in the state.
He said he was impressed with the preparations and facilities on ground for both officials as well as the wrestlers to work with and called on participating wrestlers to compete with pride and honour.
Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Najite Kuejubola, has assured participating teams of smooth and funfilled championship.
The four-day wrestling championship will take place at the Brown Hill Events Centre in Warri with the Governor of the state, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan as the guest of honour.
The special guest of honour is Chief E.K. Clark while the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Victor Ochei is the chief host of the competition.
