Chief Afe Babalola (SAN)
Legal luminary, Chief Afe Babalola (SAN), has advised President Goodluck Jonathan not to renege on his promise to contest for only one term in spite of the fact that no written agreement was made to the effect. Babalola, who was responding to questions during a lecture titled ‘Philanthropy and Law: Any Crossing Line?’ at a programme organised by the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Ibadan National Station, said: “I do not know any portion of the 1999 Constitution which says if President has been sworn in twice he cannot contest for second term.”
Jibodu Passes on
The families of Jibodu-Oyinbosun and Onafadeji have announced the death of their matriarch, Mrs.Juliana Simisola Jibodu. Jibodu who died on February 23 at her residence in Sagamu, Ogun State at 77 years, will be buried on April 20 at Methodist Cemetery, after a funeral service at Methodist Church, Ijoku, Sagamu. She is survived by her husband, Chief O.A. Jibodu, many children and grandchildren.
