Twenty teams have indicated interest to partake in the finals of the 2013 Corporate Golf Challenge that will be decided on January 19 at Ikeja Golf Club, in Lagos.
The event designed as a social platform for corporate organizations represented in Ikeja business area of Lagos has witnessed more interest this year as more firms have showed willingness to partake in the two days jostle for team golf honour.
Captain of the club, Tunji Adeyemo has said, the club is the only golf course on mainland of Lagos and as such, “has responsibility of hosting an event of such magnitude which will serve as the connecting point for corporate golfers in this part of the state. And this year we have seen some higher level of interest and as a club we are proud to be providing such a necessary bridge for the corporate world.”
Adeyemo also said that the club facilities has always been a prime concern for his executive team managing the club, hence participants at the Corporate Golf this year would be playing the golf course in its best condition, despite the weather changes of late.
“Our greens are in best shape and the uniqueness of our fairways provide golfers with a challenge they cannot get on any golf course in the country,” he added.
Some of the teams and players that have indicated their interest in showcasing their skill at the event to be concluded on January 19 include Eleh, Ubosi & Co, Consolidate Hallmark Insurance, Seven Up Bottling Company Plc, Jungle Films, Portland Paints and Products,
Mutula Benefits Insurance Plc, Integrated Cost Management Accountants and Oak Pension Limited among others.
Among the players lined up are Muyideen Olaitan, (five time club champion at Ikeja Golf Club), Chris Obije, AWA Ibraheem, Olusola Adekanola, Wole Sowole, Chudi Ubosi, Olusola Lawson, Felix Ibru, Niyi Latinwo and Jasminder Shergill
