The National Council of Catholic Women Organisation and Confraternity of the Christian Mothers of Nigeria (WUCWO) have called on Nigerian women to rise up against unbridled greed, sycophancy and injustices in the nation’s polity.

Addressing Journalists Friday in Abuja on the WUCWO’s hosting of the 8th African Regional Assembly between 2nd and 7th of February, 2013, in Nigeria, the President of the Organisation, Mrs. Felicia Onyeabor said the time has come for Nigerian women to understand that most men that won election by whatever means got there by the help of women who gave legitimacy to even the most rigged election.

Continuing, she said: “Nigerian women and women of Africa should continue to dialogue with government for a fair share of political offices patronage”.

Onyeabor however gave kudos to President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration for appointing more women into position of power in his government, especially to some certain positions that had been exclusively preserved for men.
