The Chairman of the Bauchi State Football Association, Alhaji Yahuza Adamu Ningi, has dispelled insinuations that Bauchi was not safe to host the group matches of the Federation Cup billed to commence next week in four centres.
The chairman was responding to the claims made by the media chief of Warri Wolves, Timi Ebikagboro that team paired in the Bauchi centre were not going to play due to safety issues.
Ningi said that officials of the Bauchi FA were disturbed that Warri Wolves with international exposure would join in playing politics with national security.
He said players and officials of Warri Wolves were no strangers to Bauchi State as they played Wikki Tourist in the Premier League and left the state without any negative report about any of their officials and players.
The Bauchi FA chief similarly said that Niger Tornadoes played Lobi Stars in the Federation Cup in Bauchi without any complain from any of the two teams about insecurity.
“It’s a mischief by the club to say that Bauchi is not safe to host the Federation Cup as we have done it before and we are ready to host not only the group of four or quarter finals but even the finals. Don’t forget that we have all the experience to host matches as we hosted FIFA organised matches peacefully in Bauchi and by God’s grace, we are going to host these matches peacefully,” he noted.
Alhaji Yahuza said; “We are leaving no stone un-turned to ensure a hitch free competition. We wish to put it on record that the contribution of the Bauchi State government under the Isa Yuguda-led administration is commendable as it is committed to providing all the necessary logistic support and security arrangements to ensure the success of the competition.
